A campus/community event highlighting the ongoing struggles of Guinean asylum seekers in Montreal, who are also part of the #StatusForAll movement. This event is meant to be a space for learning about the campaign against deportations and for status that have been organized by the Status for Guineans committee since 2017 in Montreal by listening to frontline perspectives from Guinean community members that have been working to build solidarity amongst various networks such as the Immigrant Workers Center (IWC) and Solidarity Across Borders in order to oppose the precarity of statelessness. Part of this event will also include an exhibition of posters and photographs that have formed the dominant visual language for this campaign featuring a print designed by Christen Francis of justseeds’ artist collective, and a series of photographs taken by Neal Rockwell, Darren Ell, and P. Teixcyr.

You can listen to a broadcast of this event on Free City Radio organized by Stefan Christoff here: https://soundcloud.com/freecityradio/guineans-stand-up-against-deportations-from-canada-radio-elsewheres-mix
